Amelia is very passionate about health and fitness. Whether it is with her personal training to compete or coaching a new member how to squat correctly, she is very proactive in our Crossfit community. She was always active as a child and went on to play soccer collegiately. After graduating she missed the competitiveness and team aspect of sports, so in 2013 she tried her first Crossfit class. She immediately fell in love with the rich culture, fitness challenge, competitiveness, and loving community.
Amelia is the head of the MomStrong class which brings moms together, regardless of fitness level, to share life while working out. As a mother of three, she understands the various fitness challenges moms face and she loves to be a part of the empowerment that Crossfit gives to not just moms but all women. She says:
A lot of times women feel like they shouldn’t have goals to get stronger or lift weights but when they go through a few classes and begin to feel their success (drink the Kool Aid) their goals all change. That is one of my favorite transformations to watch – women becoming stronger from within when they join Crossfit. I know this happens because it happened with me. I am a better person because of Crossfit.
Amelia considers herself beyond blessed for what Crossfit has given her life. It has not only given her some great friends and taken her fitness goals beyond what she’s ever thought, but has given her a lifestyle to be strong and healthy now and the rest of her life.
